Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction is an 8 week group intensive course.

It brings the principles of mindfulness meditation into everyday life by teaching specific skills and practices that can be incorporated into daily life to help break cycles of anxiety, stress, unhappiness and exhaustion.

Those who have taken this user-friendly course report feeling more engaged in their work and relationships, with fewer symptoms of stress and also an increased sense of authority in their lives. You can read more about the well researched and documented benefits of mindfulness here.

Criteria & Referral

This is a Low Intensity Mental Health program at no cost to particpants. You can self-refer or your GP/Health practitioner can refer. 

A short interview via phone or in person prior to the course commencing to assess criteria.
It is suited to people over 18 - men and women living in the Stanthorpe area. It can be to improve overall wellbeing or reduce stress, mild anxiety or depression symptoms. or for those who've recovered from a more serious mental illness and want to help prevent a relapse.

If you are interested, you do need to commit to attending 2.5hr sessions each week for 8 weeks, about 45 mins of daily home practice  and there is a full silent day retreat during the course
